the purple stamp says:
"Colmar (Els.) P.K. zu befördern"
The blue one belongs to bavarian Landwehr Infanterie Regiment No. 2/ II. Bataillon.
The b. L.I.R 2 fought near Colmar until the end of September 1914 (Logelbach-Drei Aehren-Hörnleskopf-Barrenkopf-Hohrodberg ....). Then they moved to Belgium and Flanders (Oct. 9th near Gent, Oct. 29th near Ypres ...).

The words are:
Lieber Schwager und Familie 30.9.1914
Heute hier in Colmar und erwarten Befehl zum Weitertransport in ein anderes Operationsgebiet. Wohin? unbekannt!
Geht mir bis jetzt gut habe unberufen viel Glück!

The text says that the regiment stays in Colmar and waits to be transfered to "where?" - may be Flanders. This matches with the calendar of b. L.I.R. 2.
The photo shows an infantry soldier (the writer?) on the right and a Feldwebel of a bavarian "Fußartillerie-unit" on the left. In my opinion they do look related.
A close look on the cuff (left hand) of the infantry man might show the "bavarian lion" on the knobs.
